KUNG FU CLASSES
Choy Li Fut - Sanda - Weapon training
Kung Fu is a Chinese concept that refers to skill, or level, gained through hard work. By practising consistently over a long period of time, everyone is able to turn weakness into strength. In doing so, we also deepen our understanding, and improve our relationship with the world around us.
This is true, not only for martial arts, but for every aspect of life. At Five Fists we create a positive learning environment, where every student can work to his or her own ability. The classes are of mixed levels, and so we also learn to help each other out. In this way, we can learn collectively, as well as personally.
The concept of Kung Fu is at the very heart of what we practise, and how we practise. Besides learning a powerful system of self-defence, the true benefits we reap through consistent practise are in health, grace, respect, communication, truthfulness, confidence and empowerment.
Our Kung Fu system, or style, is called Choy Li Fut, and was founded in 1836 by Chan Heung of King Mui village, Guangdong province. Read more about Choy Li Fut on the website of Grandmaster Doc-Fai Wong.
